Proton compatibility - games that STILL dont work

While Proton has come incredibly far, there are still some holdouts. Keeping a running list of popular games that still do not work on Linux:

- Most games with kernel-level anti-cheat (Valorant, Fortnite)
- Some EA titles with EA anti-cheat
- A few Unity games with broken Vulkan

Anything else that should be on this list?

Valorant is the big one. Vanguard anti-cheat requires kernel-level access that will never work on Linux. Riot has said they have no plans to support it.

Fortnite technically ran on Linux years ago via Proton before Epic deliberately broke it. Still salty about that.

Destiny 2 works now since Bungie stopped using BattlEye kernel mode. So progress is being made, just slowly.

Apex Legends works perfectly on Linux via Proton now. EAC made the Linux compatibility module and it has been smooth since late 2024.
