Google Chrome fixed 1,442 security flaws
Google fixed 1,442 security bugs in Chrome across three recent updates, more than the previous 23 updates combined. Most were found using AI tools, and a handful were serious enough that an attacker could have used them to attack people browsing the web.

- Chrome 151 alone fixed 370 issues, 349 of them found by Google itself.
What to do
Check your Chrome version under the three-dot menu, Help, About Google Chrome, and confirm it shows 151.0.7922.72 or later once the update finishes installing.
Open the About Google Chrome page to force a check and restart the browser to apply the fix, since Google is now shipping security updates every two weeks instead of waiting longer between releases.

Google's June releases, Chrome 149.x and 150.x, fixed 1,072 vulnerabilities combined, and this week's Chrome 151.x added 370 more, for a three-release total of 1,442. That already exceeds the combined total from the prior 23 major versions (126.x through 148.x), none of which individually broke 1,000 fixes. Of the 370 fixes in 151.x, Google itself found and reported 349, with external researchers reporting the rest; 7 carried a critical severity rating. Google attributes the surge largely to AI-assisted vulnerability discovery, used both by its own security team and outside researchers, and says AI has also been used to help draft some CVE write-ups given the volume.
